If you have ever found yourself juggling everything, work, home, relationships, while quietly running on empty, Lisa Macedo gets it. She has been there. And now she is on her goal to help women everywhere find their way back to balance.

Lisa Macedo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified CBT Therapist, and an anxiety and OCD Specialist with over 15 years of experience helping others heal. However, her latest project, Life Reset: Overcoming Burnout, stems from something much deeper: her own story.
After facing burnout firsthand, Lisa started journaling and experimenting with different mental health tools to help herself recover. “I realized these strategies could be helpful to other women as well,” she says. What began as a personal healing practice evolved into a powerful, practical workbook designed to help women recharge, reset, and rediscover
themselves.
The Heart Behind Life Reset
Life Reset: Overcoming Burnout is not your typical self-help book. It is a gentle, encouraging guide for anyone who’s been holding it all together while quietly falling apart inside. Lisa’s message is clear: “Recovery is not about doing more. It is about doing things differently.”
Through clear explanations and easy-to-use exercises, Lisa helps readers recognize how burnout shows up in their daily lives and offers science-backed strategies to restore energy and joy. With this workbook, you will learn to set boundaries, understand your nervous system, and live in alignment with your values without guilt.
For Lisa, this book is both personal and professional. “During the pandemic, I saw firsthand how many people were struggling to separate work and home life,” she explains. “My own experience motivated me to share a message of hope that there is light at the end of the burnout tunnel.”
Writing as Healing
For Lisa, writing was not just about creating a workbook; it was part of her own recovery. She describes herself as a “brain dump” kind of writer, someone who pours her thoughts onto the page to make sense of them. The process of writing Life Reset felt therapeutic, even energizing. And true to her structured, CBT-inspired style, Lisa practiced what she preached. “I live by activity scheduling,” she says. “If something is not in my calendar, it is less likely to happen. Writing and journaling for this workbook were literally scheduled into my daily routine!”
Her Favorite Chapter (and Why It Matters)
Out of all the chapters in Life Reset, Lisa has a soft spot for the one on boundaries. “It reflects so much of what I have personally learned about managing burnout and protecting my energy,” she explains. Teaching clients to set healthy boundaries has always been one of the most transformative parts of her work, and in this book, she finally gets to share those lessons on a larger scale.
A Journey That Comes Full Circle
Beyond her work as a therapist and author, Lisa treasures her cultural roots. As a
first-generation American with family from the Azores Islands, she travels there every year to reconnect with her heritage and, as she puts it, “return to my center.” It is a beautiful full-circle reminder of what her book teaches: healing is not about constant productivity. It is more about coming back to yourself.
Life Reset: Overcoming Burnout is more than a workbook; it is an invitation. An invitation to slow down, listen inward, and rediscover what joy and balance look like for you. Because burnout does not mean you are broken. It just means you have been giving too much, and it is time to give a little back to yourself.
