I’m excited to introduce a valuable member of this term’s project-based internship with Ensign College + BYU Pathway.
Bree Talbot has brought an important perspective to this work through her deep involvement in the online reading community. Her understanding of how readers discover books, engage with authors, and build relationships around stories has helped inform several of the engagement strategies we are developing this spring.
While much of this internship’s work is happening behind the scenes, its impact will begin unfolding as we move toward our April 6th launch of new reader engagement initiatives, and Bree’s insights have been a critical part of that process.
Serving as our Sponsor Liaison and Deliverables Manager, Bree has researched reader behavior on social media and explored how peer-to-peer recommendations influence book discovery. Her work has helped guide the development of a reader-focused engagement strategy, including early contributions to a content calendar and tools that will help streamline how we plan and organize future outreach.
We are extremely fortunate to have Bree’s creativity, curiosity, and reader-focused insight guiding this work.
Meet the interns making this happen!
Hello everyone! My name is Bree, and I am currently working as the Sponsor Liaison and Deliverables Manager for the PPS Spring Internship. I am an active participant in the online book community and bring a unique perspective to the team through my in-depth knowledge of readers' minds. With my background as a “Bookstagrammer,” my attention to detail, and my creative ideas, I hope to help PPS with the project at hand and learn more about the industry along the way.
I am a Utahn born and raised, and I currently live in Hooper, Utah, with my husband of 16 years and our three amazing kids! I am a communication student at Ensign College and have always dreamed of getting a degree. With the end in sight, I am so excited to reach this goal and find a career I love.
I thrive when there are opportunities to learn and grow, and I can’t stay stagnant for long. I have been a creative person since I was little. I was always making up stories, songs, or plays to perform with my friends, and I danced for all my formative years.
In adulthood, I love coming up with creative solutions for problems and often get caught up thinking about all the different ways I could do something. I have been working hard to develop skills in social media marketing, content creation, and communication over the past few years. I am excited to apply the knowledge and skills I have gained so far and continue to grow throughout this internship!
Tara's Reflections One of the things that has stood out to me most during this internship is the perspective Bree brings from the reader side of the publishing world. Her experience within the online book community has helped us better understand how readers discover books, what encourages engagement, and how authentic connection can shape an author’s relationship with their audience. Bree has shown remarkable adaptability throughout this project. When unexpected changes required adjustments within the team, she continued to step forward with enthusiasm, thoughtful ideas, and a willingness to help move the project forward. Her creativity and insight have been instrumental as we shape a reader-focused engagement strategy for the months ahead. Bree, thank you for your thoughtful contributions and the enthusiasm you bring to this work. Your voice and perspective have been a valuable part of this internship experience. |
